THREE MUST HAVE FITNESS APPS

I'm not really an app junkie. If you open up my phone, I've pretty much got the basics. A few cab apps, maps, and maybe one or two games. But what you can count on is a whole gang of fitness apps to help me stay on track. I have given a try to a wide variety, and these are my top three.

1. Runkeeper
The best app for runners, by far. Besides tracking your distance and time, it tracks pace per mile so you can see where you sped up or slowed down. It's really easy to do paced runs with this app. Definitely download it if you are training for any races!

2. Pact
If you have trouble sticking to your fitness routine, Pact is for you. Basically, you are betting on yourself. When you set up a pact, you enter a number of days you will work out per week, and how much money you want to bet per day. If you fulfill your pact, you get paid, but if you don't, you pay up. It also connects to a Fitbit, Jawbone, or Nike Fuel band so you can track activity through them.

3. Songza
You really need Songza in your life period, but I mostly love it for working out. You can select what type of workout you are doing and what genre of music you like and it gives you a preset playlist. My personal favorite is 'Drop-a-Beat Workout'.
